Jon was born to Kathryn and Howard Rose of Briarcliff Manor, New York, the first of their four children. Jon was a stand-out athlete and loved all sports.  At Briarcliff High School he played football, basketball, and pole-vaulted for the Bears’ track team.  At Springfield College, Jon’s record pole vault of 15’6’’ still stands.  He was named All-American when he graduated in 1965.

Jon married Barbara Elaine Scott May 20, 1978, and they had one son, Timothy Wilson Scott Rose, of Orford, New Hampshire. Tim is married to Sarah Nicole (nee Latham) Rose and they have a young daughter, Hailee Tyler Rose.

Jon received a Master of Education at Columbia Teachers college and taught physical education for some time before becoming a commercial realtor and then a bank manager. His early adult years were spent in Pleasantville, NY; he then worked in NYC for Gulf & Western and Paramount and then, when married to Barb, they moved to the beautiful Hanover, Upper Valley area, in New Hampshire where Tim was raised.  Jon finished his career with Sugar River Savings Bank and moved to Vero Beach, FL and then North Port, FL.

Jon is survived by his wife of 45 years, Barbara, son Tim, daughter-in-law Sarah and granddaughter Hailee, as well as three siblings, Wendy Rose O’Steen (David) of Aberdeen, MD, Kevin Rose of Palmyra, VA, and Barry Rose (Helene) of Myrtle Beach SC, and a lot of great friends.
